Party Ideas: Space Party

Time to beam me up Scotty. Invitations can be as simple or as complicated as you wish but black cardboard, white writing and gold and silver stars are a great place to start.

Decorations are easy and fun to make – make a large space ship out of cardboard and stick it to the front of the fence. Cut out stars and planets and hang them from tree branches or stick them on fences. Welcome your guests with a chalk outline of a rocket ship on the ground and an arrow that reads “Astronauts check-in this way”. Think rocket ships, aliens, planets, glow sticks and green slime.

  • Alien Invaders – When the guests arrive, attach 2 or 3 stars on the back of their clothes (make sure that you get all of them). Once everyone has arrived and has been “starred”, give half of the kids cards saying “aliens” and the other half saying “earthling”. During the party, the aliens must try and collect the stars from the earthlings without being caught. If they are caught – they have to give the sticker back. The winner is the earthling or the alien with the most stars.
  • Space Walk Freeze – Have the kids bouncing to music (Star Wars soundtrack or something like it) and when the music stops, they have to FREEZE. Anyone that moves will have to get off the jumping castle.

Oscar Octopus, Lost Temple, Crazy House or the Disco Dome will make a great addition to this party.
